I have been walking either early morning or late afternoon/evening recently. Yesterday, Rosemary dropped me off at Geroskipou Beach and I walked as far as Alkyes Beach and then back to Stavros's kiosk where we had a frappe.
The pile of large rocks, which were being loaded onto a barge and taken to build breakwaters further along the coast at Chlorakas have now disappeared. The beach itself is sandy near the water's edge and was a pleasure to walk along.
The new beach tavernas were not ready, as promised in the press, for May, but may be ready for next years tourist season. There are three tavernas being built. As I mentioned in a previous post, there is now a proper toilet block on the beach.
Riccos beach was still doing a good trade, with a few tourists having a beer and the old boys playing backgammon. However, the whole area really needs a good tidy up.
For Al, Geroskipou Beach yesterday
