Can You Help?

We are currently helping a Syrian mum whose flat was gutted by fire over weekend. There are many things we need fast, including some furniture, maybe volunteers to help paint, redecorate etc

It's a mum of 4 children. No dad. Fire started on Friday night and the oldest girl thankfully was still awake and alerted others. Once they vacated the flat it spread very fast due to sofa and curtains catching fire.
The whole living area is scorched, all her sofas destroyed and some tables, carpet etc. Thankfully bedrooms ok and bathroom but every room is blackened.

What we need is: furniture in particular a washing machine. She was doing all her washing by hand for weeks before because she was saving up to buy one. If we can get a kind person to bring and fit it for her this would be amazing. She can't arrange transport or fitting.

We have a lot of soiled clothes and curtains to do.

Volunteer painters? To help redcorate probably over next week or 2

Furniture including sofas. Coffee table. Curtains.

I was impressed with how quickly people responded on Facebook, it's nice to see you lending a hand too Lloyd.

Caritas has been our Charity of 2018 for a few weeks now. I posted information at the time and there's a banner ad for them. We intend updating the page over the course of the year, to keep people informed and alert people of new drives.

She can respond to emails at a time that suits her. If she is busy scrubbing fire damaged walls down, she may not be able to answer the phone.

If someone connected with these unfortunate people and knows what the need can call up to Polemi charity shop we have a large selection of household items. Sofas , tellys, bedding etc. If they can use it we will arrange delivery. There will be no costs involved.
