last Saturday, May 12, 2018, a campaign aimed at reducing its use
plastic bag.
The campaign took place on a pan-Cypriot scale on the occasion of change
of the relevant legislation that will come into effect from next June, was made to
supermarkets and other central points of the city and in which members participated
friends of the party. As part of the campaign, they were distributed to fellow citizens
our consumer reusable bags and related information material.
Plastic disposable bags unfortunately are a serious problem for
environment and our seas. They have serious consequences for the ecosystem, the
marine life and humanity.
AKEL in order to contribute to the reduction of the consumption of plastics
disposable bags through its campaign, informs citizens about it
the availability of environmentally friendly alternatives. It is worth noting
that this activity is the beginning of a series of actions and
initiatives to be taken by AKEL in relation to the necessity of cultivation
environmental consciousness.
