Cyprus Driving Licence How Long?

Dropped my licence off three weeks ago to be renewed and picked up my temporary piece of paper . The lady said it should take about 10 days and they would text me when it was ready. I know it has to be actually made elsewhere but am wondering how long it might take. Am impressed with the way they send you a text fro MOT etc but maybe, just maybe, do you think I might have been forgotten ?
Not wildly keen to go in and waste an hour or so queueing to be told not yet but perhaps I should or is three weeks plus par for the course as this is my first renewal ?

They text me after 2 weeks ,went in to collect. Walked in ,asked about it ,handed it to me ,out in 2 minutes.

Same thing happened to me when I was renewing mine. I popped down to their office in early afternoon when it is usually much quieter, and yes, my licence was waiting for me to collect. So much for their promise of texting me!

I have reached age when I have to renew Driving licence Yearly (What a bind!!) Last year got the form, Eyes tested at Paphos General then upstairs floor 2 to have it signed by Dr. (Book in at registration one set of Tickets for Specialist 6 euro and one set for Dr 3 euro) Took that to Post Office (Nearest to Hospital and it has a Citizens Advice Centre at right hand side as you walk in) they said they would notify me in about 3 weeks but never did so I went and It had arrived. This year (Last week) did all same rigmerole but used C A C in centre of town, this year they also wanted my Passport. (Didn't Last year Doh!!) so another journey (Luckily I have a scooter to nip about on in warm weather) So the guy who processed me, (took photo etc) said he will send me a SMS in about 3 weeks. (Apparently the Credit card style Cyprus Driving licences are processed in Bulgaria!!) So wiil see what happens in 3 weeks ????? (Last year they put date early 11th May but should have been my Birthday 29th, so have had to do it from 11th again this year!!!)

Should have said I'm using the Limassol Department not Paphos . Anyway I went in at lunchtime today which is quieter especially on a Wednesday and there you go to the place where the photo for the licence is taken so at least no queueing to see one of the assistants nor one of the driving instructors who check you initial form and send it to Nicosia. She eventually found my licence in a draw that must have had several hundred licences in.
So I am now the proud owner of my first Cyprus Drivers licence. I notice that there is no address shown on the licence, is that a worry when renting cars as every card company has asked if the address on the old UK one was my permanent address I wonder.

Well I have certainly used a Cyprus Driving Licence in the UK for the last 7 years of renting cars there. No problems..

Strangely I just looked at the Indigo link and this notice is on the website re drivers age..


" 25 to 75 years.

Young driver's age: 23 to 24 years. Charge 30 GBP per day. Includes 20% tax
