Post by Paphos Life »

A group of Paphos youngsters are suspected of killing a seven-month old puppy which was reported missing to the government veterinary services a few days ago. He was found at the weekend, dead under a tree with a chain around his neck, next to a small village park....

Because the parents are responsible for the children's actions. Why, who would you blame?

FHS they're aged between 8 and 10 and already torturing and murdering animals? Psychopathic tendencies at that age can't bode well, I'm sure if we research the findings on convicted psychos they then will have committed such atrocities at a young age!!

Are you suggesting they're sat down with a pile of Enid Blyton books and not to do it again?!!
If you care to read what Ive said, you will find I agree with everything you say, about these sick kids, you wanted the police to prosecute the parents, and I replied, that I cant see that happening....please do not say Im suggesting anything of the like.

Those sick kids were raised by parents. Parents need to take responsibilty for their offspring. By blaming it solely on the kids you are just passing the buck.

Totally agree with what you say Dominic, but in my opinion knowing how things work here, the police wont prosecute the parents...I should of added mores the pity.

I have said it before and will say it again.
This government, and all before it and after it along with all the departments related to it are nothing more than spineless, gutless, and worthless when it comes to any FIRM ACTION against all and anyone who is cruel to any animal.
It is irrelevant as to the age,sex colour, or creed when this happens, evil is what it is and has to be punished outright.
I can and always will hope that KARMA strikes with a vengeance, and inflicts the same kind of pain and suffering on all those who are cruel to animals, and again i dont care what age, sex, colour or creed they are,so please let karma strike soon.

Perhaps the law needs to change then. If you own a dog and it attacks somebody, you are accountable. Why are you not accountable for your children's actions?

I would hardly call this a cultural stain on Cypriot society. Nobody has given a "Cypriot" shrug, so you can take that little chip off your shoulder.

Similarly, I didn't call the Bulger case a cultural stain on British society. It has nothing to do with "society". If it did, it would be happening more often. These cases are aberrations.

What has been debated is whether it is legally possible to apportion blame to the parents. However, without knowing the full story, who's to say if they are culpable? On the face of it I would say they must be. But who's to say I am right, morally? I'm just glad I don't have to do the investigation.

Dogs are as individual as humans. Your wife is a complete red herring. No offence to her. She would be above the age of criminal responsibility and responsible for her own actions.

The problem is that having 'got away with it' what is the likelihood of the children carrying out similar acts (or even worse) in the future?
