Two ' Thank You's '

Post by trevnhil »

I just want to say thank you to two businesses. One, is Eye Contact on TOTK road. I broke my glasses a couple of days ago and mended them with a bit of wire. However I called in the Shop and my glasses were repaired in quick time and cleaned and returned to me. Thank you Panicos and Michelle.

The second thanks is to an unknown person, or people a EAC.. On Tuesday morning I reported a street light fault (flashing light) on the light outside our gate. Yesterday my wife saw the EAC truck down our lane.
BUT... During the evening around 8-15pm I got a phone call from an EAC man asking if my light was working OK now.. That was 'going the extra mile' to make sure all was working OK.

I have used many Opticians in my time here including Eye Contact a very long time ago, so I have tried most of the rest I will be staying now with Eye Contact for my yearly eye testing (please note Dom ;) ) They are very helpful and not over pushy regarding onward further treatment, many other Opticians in town do tend to push this, reasonable too.

Five stars from me *****

Regarding EAC had a similar experience as Trev, if you look at the post the light is usually fixed too there is a number code, just call the EAC with that number and within a few days it was fixed, they are expensive for electricity but you cannot fault the ongoing repair and service.

Another good service from EAC is when your trees in the garden are going to touch the electric transmission lines outside your property. They come within days, after telling them, to prune the trees without asking any fees...remarkable!

Great to hear positive news, it is out there, unfortunately , we mainly hear the '' Everything's bad in Cyprus Brigade'' all the time.....Just in the last couple of days, two separate Cypriot family's that live in our road, and are not well known to us, just on a nod and Hello terms, knocked on our door and gave my wife some Flouonas, straight out of the oven..so my wife is baking some Hot cross buns to give to them.

Yes,now and again you do get someone who does you a good turn and for want of no return favour or benefit to themselves.
At a certain airport a couple of weeks age we had a connecting flight to make. After disembarking our first flight it was obvious that we where not going catch the connecting flight which would have caused us no amount of trouble and a lot of cash to our selves. To cut a long story short this certain individual made sure we did get the connecting flight

It was outside of the persons duties.
It was for the want of no return.
And the person knows we,ll never meet again

If the person had been a "jobsworth" we would certainly have missed the flight.
