Perhaps an idea for the PV panels themselves is to offer different colour choices for them, rather than the standard blue? In this particular case, a terracotta colour would blend in more nicely, don't you think?

PV systems provide mainly electricity which one can also use to heat the house or for hot water producing...
Recently are also roof tiles available with integrated solar cells, which when they are in red colour they are nearly invisible. I have already examples from this tiles and they look great. Specially for historic buildings like churches this would be a option not to spoil the appearance. But also for private houses it would be an alternative when people don't like the look of the blue panels on their roof.
The only problem is the price for this tiles which are nearly double of normal solar panels. Further the installation takes much more time as you have to replace also the existing tiles on a roof that it matches. But I am still in the process bringing PV tiles to Cyprus as the saying: The early bird...
