Jacs, does granddad have a smartphone with front and rear cameras? If so, WhatsApp might be an alternative (FREE) solution to Skype at both ends. Or google Hangouts maybe?

I managed to use Skype yesterday with a normal connection. Didn’t know that there was a problem.

Working as normal over the road, just reload the Skype application again, you will not lose contacts as long as you have your password.

We often have problems with Skype and now prefer to use Messenger , free with video, phone to phone /pc , just download the app.
Minor neg , the ring is not so easy to hear .

Since Microsoft bought Skype they constantly 'fiddle' with it, saying 'improvements'. I now only use Skype for a friend who loves it & doesn't want to use anything better!!

Only reason M$ bought Skype was to stop Apple using it, Mike.

I've just tried it again under Win7, and after endless login attempts and new password, I finally have it back, wooooo! But where have my Contacts gone? Into a cyber black hole, doh...

I had to create a Microsoft password and account for my Skype account as they discontinued the option to sign in via Facebook. It said it was stopping it from January....

So do my daughter and granddaughter in UK, Hudswell.

But that was the reason given when M$ originally bought out Skype. Spoiling tactics for Apple...
