I new of the owners through a friend, who was their friend also.
After paying a hefty price for the previous business I think it was called Gastronomie, Silks failed and they ended up going into business with another person and opened Ramsdens.
It was very popular but the amount of hours/work put into it didnt really pay off,
Although popular because it was very cheap, they relied on drinks sales for profit more than the food, a lot of their customers didnt spend much on drinks, and as they said one example was that there was one regular elderly church group who insisted on drinking tap water.
They went back to the UK a couple of years ago, not sure if the business is up for sale.
Though I believe that another bar further down the hill was also called Silks, I no nothing about that establishment.

The owner of Ramsdens moved into Silks and Ramsdens is now Oulas Cafe Diner. Silks used to charge €2 per alcoholic drink and €1 per non alcoholic drink. This information from a neighbour who was a regular in Silks before he went back to the UK for a short break before Christmas and returned to find it closed!
