I have a small stamp that has an insert of an Ink Pad in it. So when I press the pad down the writing inside turn's down leaving the print onto the paper.

my problem is the ink pad has run out and is now all tatty.

Can anyone tell me where to get the replacement cartridge. The size is approx- 1/2" x 2" x 1/8"

Many thanks.
In most of these stamps, called "Printy" are removable ink pads. If you have one of these you just take the ink pad out of the case and place it overnight outdoors. What is missing is only the humidity in the pad. (mind it is not raining, because this would be too much) If it does not work, you just take the stamp to one of the many stamp maker (or key services) in town to replace the ink pad...

The problem is the pad is now all chewed up due to over use and pressure so I have to get a new one.

Just try it outside overnight....with more humidity they are growing again....
(by the way: this was my business in Germany many many years ago, and guess what was more lucrative than selling these type of stamps: the ink pads for it in 5 colours, packed in 10er units.... :) Sold more than 100k per year of these Printy's...)
