Paphos 2017 Closing Celebration 30 Dec 2017

Well, got up to see the closing celebrations tonight & although it rained as we walked up, the night subsequently stayed dry.

What can I say about the celebrations ............. underwhelmed really, although my OH enjoyed it! Personally, I was expecting a lot more after the fantastic opening ceremony at the beginning of the year but in the end it amounted to some musicians, a couple of choirs, 3 main singers, lots of singing, a light display ................. oh & did I mention lots of singing?

Anyway, here are some photos of the night!

Maybe a bit on the long side I would agree but overall we liked it a lot. Plus fireworks a day earlier than normal ...

A great end to Paphos' year of culture. And if they continue like this beyond 2017 as the major promised then we all have something to look fwd to.

The event looked very good, unfortunately I'm at work or we would of come down to see it. Thanks for the pics.
I think the new mayor is a breath of fresh air to Paphos & is doing a great job considering all the crap he was left with from the previous candidate.
