Mag box owners
Mag box owners
I had an email today from my service provider saying PayPal payments would be stopped due to a request from Sky .
No problem , we can make payments by bank transfer .
But will the next move by Sky be to put a block on bank transfers ?

Re: Mag box owners
Are your streams making money for anyone? Without a doubt they aren’t legal. We have covered this before. Mr Righteous until it isn’t his view ir actions.
Re: Mag box owners
We’ve covered this well before. Copyright used to require marking items as such. Since the Internet days, copyright is implied on eveything. You shouldn't copy, share or quote anthing unless with permission. Streaming is allowed on sites where policing takes place, such as YouTube.
Films, TV shows and Media is all copyright. If licences properly, such as the BBC showing an American series, then that’s fine.
Watching streams, TV channels through MAG boxes, PLEX, XBMC etc. Is all breaking copyright. As is FilmOn and many other sites that show UK channels abroad.
I pay someone for a service that I acknowledge is illegal. I.e. breaks copyright. If I was able to know that the money funding orphanages in Rwanda or wherever, great. I dont and it ‘may’ be blacker than grey. I have little choice otherwise.
For Hudswell and like to ‘claim’ they’re only slightly grey is like being partly a thief. A thief none the less.

Re: Mag box owners
Legislation won't stem anything. All that is needed is for a legal service to be offered. From what I can see, people would be happy to pay for a legal service, but nobody is able to. The ball is in Sky's court. If the pirates can offer a service, why can't they?

Re: Mag box owners
It was just technology , the satilites used to reach to Cyprus , but the new ones are fine tuned on the uk .
It was never official , so sky did not benifit financially (officially) .

Re: Mag box owners
Everyone is forgetting the basic legal ethos of the EU here, which is "Television Sans Frontiers".
Sly did a real naughty when they introduced their new 'tight' 28.2E satellite beam intended for UK only a few years back. All those poor expats (and bar owners) in Cyprus who had spent a fortune on large 3.5M dishes, just to grab BBC and ITV, how sad. Now white elephants sitting on their roofs...
I reckon the EU could have a law case against Sly for anti-competitive malpractice in terms of satellite broadcasting! Meanwhile, if you can grab the UK stuff off the internet, then do so! It doesn't make you a pirate nor a criminal. Think of yourself more as a parasite..
HOW are Sly going to deal with millions of IPTV users from thousands of web providers? When it's taken them nearly a decade to snuff out CS (card share) over the internet?
AL ?

If you don't understand what I'm talking about, Hudswell, then you've missed out on ten years of cheap Sky via broadband and card sharing. No matter, as my dear old Mum used to say, "what you've never had, you'll never miss"
Sky nipped the problem in the bud by 'double encryption' on their cards, via ecm codes. This will last as long as it takes the linux / cc+ softcam dev teams to find a coded software workaround...

Re: Mag box owners
All of Sky UK FTA channels are encrypted on Sky IRL. Sky UK is not allowed to show the live FPL 3pm football match. Sky Sports 5 IRL are. A world of difference!
After 10 years of programming this stuff via linux and c++ for 28.2E, I don't know what I'm talking about?
Google Commando 16 for DM500S (and D500C)...

Re: Mag box owners
Yep- and most of it has been undone (no case to answer) in the UK courts using EU legislation in the past decade, despite Sky and FPL lawyers valiant attempts to the contrary...
Sky UK and Sky IRL broacasting licenses are entirely different. Then where does N. Ireland sit in all this? And if someone in Nothern France can pick up Sky UK 28.2E FTA on a 1M dish, do you honestly expect the Gendarmes to come around at midnight, kicking their front door in?
Come on, Hudswell, get a life, m8!

Re: Mag box owners
Get Iptv mix up. It works for flight booker as well. YOU GET CHEAPER FLIGHTS ON IT AS WELL.Happy in Cyprus wrote: ↑Fri Dec 29, 2017 1:15 am Sorry Hudswell, the genie is out of the box when it comes to iptv. I read a report recently where it said that in the USA people are abandoning cable TV in droves...and switching to iptv.
If, as you have been claiming for the past 5 years, Sky have the right, determination and technology to prevent us "illegals" from watching their product via. various iptv providers, why have they not done so?

Re: Mag box owners
For many years Sky were taking my money , putting up the price , and making huge profits , now the people can get Sky by streaming and paying Sky nothing , I reckon I am just getting some of my monies worth back
Re: Mag box owners
Brexit what good news? as for Mag users more power to them, the "hud" is the one missing out, he thinks he is not morally bankrupt when indeed he is using streaming TV that is in fact no different to other streaming devises, not as good as Mag providers offer this is true, Sky has always been so called illegal to use here on CY via Sat dishes, it was not Sky who wished to block out ex-pats in the EU, we had the same fools who said then we would all end up in trouble using Sky dishes, incidentally we paid to Sky service providers, why? well Sky would not except payment from CY this is a fact, just the same as we do now we used service providers.
Very happy to see the back of those large Sky receivers on our rooves , Mags rule and may this continue until those TV companies understand it is they who have caused this not those of us who use Mags excellent serves providers, may this continue as I'm sure it will.
I agree with Lloyd you either use another form of TV receiving or you use a Mag, all this rhetoric will not change anyone's opinion, it is just argumentative in it's theme, time to move along I feel..
Wishing all here a very Happy New year, we can only hope
