I was over-exposed to T & D as a child, and am now allergic to them.

Not at all. :)

I have no objection to anybody enjoying ice spectaculars of any shape or form. As I said, I was just over-exposed. I have similar feelings towards the song "Vienna" by Ultravox. An elder brother of mine played it on repeat day after day when it was released. Now if I hear it I just cringe. More ARRRRRRGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHH Vienna instead of Ahhhhhhhhh Vienna.
