Shipping to the UK

Post by holitec »

I have booked a 40' container to the uk leaving next Friday. I have a few items to send back, and booked a return as I have 2 vehicles coming back, so no space on the return leg. However there is about 30 foot available on the way to the UK, so if anyone wants any items shipped back PM me. I am not looking to make a profit, but any contribution to the costs will be appreciated. The container will be delivered to Norwich, so collection from there please, I do have a storage facility there, but do require 24 hours notice as it is on a secure site and need to book the collection in with site security.

Admin, please move to the appropriate section if not in the correct place!

Two vehicles coming back from UK to Limassol in a 40' container, Digby? You'd be amazed at what else would fit in there, inside the cars and around them...

Already have the cars full of bits, but there may be a few feet available, I think the 2 vehicles take up 31 feet of the 40.

But for a few pallets no problem, the container leaves for Felixstowe on the 20th October.

There you go, then! Best of luck on uptakers. I've stuffed a few 20 and 40 foot containers in my time, for Merc truck A/C kit heading out to Kuwait. A bit like doing a 3D jigsaw puzzle, where you try to maximize on every cubic metre that's available...

A lot of load height will be lost above your cars. Have they thought about a possible double deck solution for this waste of volume, I wonder? To carry lighter household stuff perhaps?

Cheers- AL :)

Al, I already have most things I need here, I doubt there will be loads of people wanting to share any space, timescale is short!

no need to double deck at present! One of the vehicles does have a roof rack though! I am shipping things I need here that are not available or are too expensive!

I am not worried if no one wants to share space, it may just save someone a bit of cash if they needed space either way.

Undersood, Digby. Just wondering, is this the first time you've used this type of container service from Cyprus to UK and back?

Please let Dominic know all the details, as this sounds like a valuable recommendation and addition to his PL Directory, for peeps moving out to Cyprus (and sadly moving back...)

Cheers- AL :)
