This is the design from the interior wall of the ruined mosque at Phinikas, is it not? Sorry, but at the moment I don't know the significance but perhaps someone else will - the decoration must have been superb in its day!

Yes, that is exactly where it came from. I was puzzled, because in a lot of abandoned villages where the mosque has been preserved, the walls are plain.

Yes, I would go along with that. I did a search on "Turksih mosque interior decorations" and managed to find one similar. If I can find it again (I was very tired at the time) I will post a link to it.
