Burglars smash wall in attempted jewellery heist

Police are investigating an attempted robbery after thieves abandoned their attempt to break into a jewellery store in Kato Paphos by trying to make a hole through the shop’s wall.

The attempted heist occurred at 03:00 on Monday morning along Poseidonas Avenue in Kato Paphos.

The burglars had initially broken into an adjoining shop through a window in the back and attempted to break a hole in the wall separating the two shops in order to gain access to the jewellery shop.

The burglars abandoned their efforts to break through the wall after the alarm went off at 03:14 and subsequently fled the scene.

Investigations are continuing.
