Ants

Post by marcusandabi »

morning

Just wondering if anyone had any tips on getting rid of those little ants....

I've tried to follow them, block entry points, mopping/cleanining with vinegar but the critters keep coming back!

Thanks

I am using since several years with good success: SMELL 0.5DP Ant powder. Takes 5 minutes and they are dead and their "friends" realize that and are not coming back. I buy it in London flower shop, Mesogi Road.

Agree 'Smell' antpowder. Quick and effective. It's available in DIY stores - not supermarkets.

For the very tiny 'sugar ants' ??? I squash them one by one. But if there are a few together I do a light mist spray with aroxol

The Plant Protection lady in Chlorakas recommends Smell, which is good enough for me. Incidentally, there's been an upgrade to CyprusMax's Smell0.5 - SMELL1. (Geddit?)

The time for the sugar ants seems to have passed. A blast of kitchen cleaner does the trick, but you have to try and find the source, which isn't easy.

Which means the chemical Permethrin in the powder is doubled. (would not use it indoors though) but thank's for the info...

This year has been dreadful for ants invading our kitchen, getting into the drawers and amassing around the tiniest crumb. I've tried sprays, which work immediately but just for the moment, next day they are back. I bought some sticky ant traps and put those down, the ants just ignored them and went around them.

Our final attempt was a little green cylindrical pot labelled Aformi Antbait which I bought in the "London" plant place on the Polis Road on their recommendation. I snapped off the 3 tabs and left it near the door where I suspected the majority may enter. 24 hours later there were no ants in the house and have not been any since.
