Last year I had my car aircon cleaned and re gassed by Chris Cool on the rd from Paphos to Chloraka. I paid €20 for the cleaning, inc a new air filter, plus €10 I think for the gas.
It has been working fine ever since.

They are VERY good prices indeed, Dee.
Here in UK, it typically costs over £45 for A/C service on any type of car. Funny when I think back to my days as Manager at a local auto A/C biz in the late 70's, installing A/C into the likes of Jaguars, BMW 7 series, Mercs, Range Rovers etc etc.
I used to do a cheapy for £10 cash in those days (naughty, but kept me in beer for a few days). But doing my own Ford Cortina 1.6 company car A/C cost us nowt!
Just to add, my current car is a Vauxhall Corsa 5 door hatch 1.3 Energy CDTI, bought new in October 2004. Now has 44,000 miles on the clock, and A/C has NEVER been touched! (Just switched on for a few minutes every month or two, to lubricate the high pressure seals in the compressor, as all manufacturers recommend! Else the gas will leak out!)
Driving back from Belgium two weeks ago, in temperatures between 30 and 33ºc from Dover back to Luton, I turned the A/C on and the fan up to speed 3. Absolute HEAVEN!! Says a lot about the build quality of 21st century cars, does it not?
When I arrived back home and opened the driver door to get out, I could not believe the difference as regards heat and humidity inside and out!
Cheers- AL

Probably the main readon for having air cons, house or car cleaned and serviced is because Cyprus is such a dusty country! Air filters ger bunged up.It's very dusty, hot and humid where I am in this too hot weather!

Re: Car air con regarding
Just so you know, all modern cars have air filters above the engine for the induction system, which need replacing periodically on a normal service, especially in a dusty environment like Cyprus!
SOME cars have pollen filters included in the H&V system, but this is nowt to do whether A/C is installed or not, honest! Sure, it's a filter that should really be replaced annually in a dusty environment, but no way is it a part of a typical automotive A/C or Climate Control system...
My pollen filter is now 13 years old. Popped it out a few months ago to inspect it (after watching a youtube video on how to to do it). Still looked like brand new!
Vauxhall main dealer wants me to replace it on every annual service / MOT for an extra £40 - I just say no thanks...

I always get my aircon re-gassed at the EKO petrol station in Chlorakas at €25 a time. Not been since last year though.
Re: Car air con regarding
Just a quick update. Had my aircon checked and re-gassed today at EKO in Chlorakas. Price today was €20.
Re: Car air con regarding
Just a quick question for you, Band, please? When you say "checked", did he run a smart 'sniffer' device around all the A/C pipe and tube joints, to see if any of them sent the sniffer into SCREAM mode, to alert of a refrigerant gas leak, then fix it?
Or are they just happy to re-gas every Summer for €20 and allow the problem to carry on?

The guy that runs the garage used to be an air conditioning engineer. He always checks over the system for leaks and faults and has sorted out a couple of minor issues at no cost. When I did have a problem that required replacement parts he told me exactly what the issue was and where to go to get it sorted.

Re: Car air con
Hi, I know this is an old post, but was wondering if anyone knew if the petrol station In Chlorakas still offered the car ac service? Or if there are any recommendations for any others in the Tala/Paphos area please
I think the subject line should read 'regassing'

Re: Car air con regarding
Chris Cool does it as soon as you drive in and is quick. He charged me 25 for re-gassing last time I went there.
