Vretsia is an abandoned village on the edge of Paphos Forest. We have featured numerous articles on it in the past, and it is a fascinating place to explore, though tinged with sadness.
In this film we drive from the village along the forest track to Roudia Bridge. This is one of the Camel Trail bridges used by the ancient Venetians to transport ore from their mines in the mountains to the waiting ships. The route is very beautiful, and these days it is not too hard on cars. Be warned though, that if you choose to venture beyond the bridge to the Diarizos Valley, it gets heavy going, and should only be attempted in a decent 4x4.
