Roudia Bridge Area - From Above

Post by Dominic »

Unlike the holiday destinations on the East of the Island, Paphos has a lot more to offer than wall-to-wall beaches. Travel inland and you will find some amazing countryside. If you are particularly adventurous you could venture into Paphos Forest itself. Indeed, what better way to find some cooling shade and the chance to go for a paddle in a mountain stream, than to head for somewhere like Roudia Bridge.

This film is drone footage, and as there were other people at the bridge itself, we didn't fly the drone there. Instead you get to see the amazing countryside, interspersed with a clip of the river itself, just downstream of the ancient masterpiece.

The ruins you can see at a couple of points in the film are of ancient watermills. You will find these dotted throughout the Cyprus countryside in valleys near rivers. There is also a restored mill in the village of Chrysochou near Polis.

If you are here on holiday, a good way to visit this area is on a Jeep Safari tour. For a list of these see the link below:

I know before I publish the film that it will get much less views than the films of the beaches and Sea Front. That is understandable. But if you enjoy this kind of film, please do like and share it as much as you can. This will signal to us that there is an audience for more content like this.
