An explosion has occurred at a hotel within the Paphos district, injuring some people.
According to philenews sources, ambulances have been dispatched to the scene, and at least eight individuals, some of them minors, have already been rushed to the hospital with burn injuries.
Several more are reportedly being prepared for transport to the Accident and Emergency Department of the General Hospital, suffering from burns and respiratory problems.
First evidence shows that the explosion occurred during boiler maintenance using chlorine. Reportedly, a chemical reaction was caused by the fumes causing skin and respiratory problems to people swimming in the hotel’s pool.
This is a developing story. We will provide further updates as more information becomes available.
