Aphrodite's Roadworks - The Sequel!

Post by Dominic »

Well, this is new. We drove up to Aphrodite's Rock the other day to give the new drone an airing, and noticed that the road was closed again. We had noticed it before, to be honest, but this time it is really closed, and they are doing some serious work on it.

Not in the same place. No, there doesn't appear to be anything wrong with the previous work. It seems that that was only the first phase of the renovation. Now they are doing the same to the area just west of it.

How long will the road be closed for? If the job is as big as Phase 1, then I would guess at least a year or two.

So, if you are a cyclist, you will have to find another route to get to Pissouri from Paphos. The most direct route would be to go up through Aphrodite's Hills and along the track until you get to the F611, then follow that to Pissouri. That route is pretty bumpy though. If you have a posh racing bike you will have to turn off at Kouklia and go all the way up to Dora before looping back that way.

On no account should you cycle along the motorway.
