Suspected Frozen Shoulder

Has anyone on here ever suffered from a frozen shoulder?

I have osteoarthritis anyway, but besides that, last night I had significant pain in my left shoulder. Today I cannot raise my arm to shoulder height, my arm feels weak, but no tingling, pins and needles. The pain is now worse in my neck and shoulder, and I'm thinking that a visit to my GP may be on the cards.

As the normal surgeries are closed, until Tuesday next, I just thought that I would ask on here, for any experiences of frozen shoulder, as I suspect that's what it is.

I had a frozen shoulder about 5 years ago. Went to my GP, MRI scan within an hour (pre Gesy). Saw a specialist who proposed physio rather than an operation to fix it. I had put up with it for quite some time and it was quite bad the physio said. 8 months of physio 3 times a week was not an experience I would want to repeat. I would advise seeing your GP as soon as possible. Hope this helps

I suggest to watch that video from a Doctor, perhaps it is helpful also about diagnosis.
I had issue with back pain in the past and another video from this guy helped me a lot, so I believe he knows what he is talking....

I had a frozen shoulder about 8 years ago. It lasted for about 5 months. It was not a pleasant time as I found it difficult to put on shirts and rucksacks and I was in a lot of pain. After about 5 months I was offered a cortisone injection and that eased the pain almost immediately and it only took a few days and the pain had gone. So if I were you I would consider getting the injection as soon as possible

I already take Co-codamol on a regular basis, so I hate to think what my shoulder would feel like if I didn't. Today I'm still in pain and unable to raise my left arm much. I will call my G.P.s surgery tomorrow, and ask for an emergency appointment. As I live alone, my daily tasks cannot be shared, so everything is difficult, as added to my shoulder, I have carpel tunnel syndrome in my right wrist, and waiting for surgery on that. Ay yes, the joys of old age

When you get to my age, you will find that the word "joy" takes on a totally different meaning. A Happy New Year to you as well as to all.

My G.P. confirmed my suspicions. Carry on with pain meds, physio in two weeks. I did mention hydrocortisone, but that was not going to be considered at this stage.

My movement is severely restricted, as has been mentioned. Don't know how it will develop obviously, but at present, I'm trying to cope the best I can.

It may be Fibro Myalgia. Similar symptoms. Either only a GP can prescribe anything

I'm pretty sure it's not Fibromyalgia.

I have a close friend who suffers from that condition, bless her, it's awful.

Update.

On 12th February I will have a cortisone injection into my left shoulder, and on 28th February, I will have surgery for carpal tunnel syndrome on my right hand. Thank goodness my daughter and son will come and see to the old girl.
