Human remains, clothes found in Akamas

Human remains, along with clothing fragments were discovered shortly before midday in Akamas.

According to philenews, a police officer, who had gone hunting with friends in the area, found the human remains and clothing remnants around 11 a.m. and notified Paphos Police.

A team from the Paphos Crime Investigation Department, including a forensic pathologist and an anthropologist, arrived at the scene for examinations. Due to the challenging terrain, their transportation was facilitated by a police helicopter.

Based on preliminary investigations, authorities believe that the bones likely belong to an individual who has been missing since March 2022.

Police are investigating the case.
