Was the Bishop Late?

We got down to the harbour at about 0930. ready for the bishop at 10.00hrs to throw the cross into the sea. ....Yawn.....scratch.....yawn Anyway he eventually turned up at 1050hrs and so the process took place. About twenty young men dived in. We also watched the soldiers and sailors march in to the harbour. All good fun and a nice mug of Hot Chocolate to follow with a free croissant.

Maybe he had a previous appointment at another venue? I know it's a big day for chucking crosses in the water in Cyprus today

We always used to miss the one down at the Apollonia Hotel in Limassol. Our friend was always there at this time of year but we never got there in time.
