Re: Temperature drops to 1 C tonight
Certainly the longest cold spell we have ever experienced here. Plus, our Phase 3 electric is off, but it only affects the plug sockets in the bedrooms and our invertor, which hasn't produced anything today. Ringing Green Air in the morning. However, only used 25kwh in the last 24 hours to heat our house with 1, 2400btu LG aircon unit on all day and a few hours with a 1800 btu unit in the lounge. Works out at around €1 with net metering.
Plus, it is not like sitting in a hairdryer. The way the new units distribute the air means you are can set the aircon units so the air is not blowing at you. They even have a comfort air setting, where you cannot feel the hot air.

The minimum overnight temperature here, in Mosfiloti, was 2.6° C at 01:08, compared to 0.2° C the night before. Still bloody chilly! Question: does anyone with an insulated house and central heating have any problems? I ask because our upstairs bedrooms and bathrooms have difficulty in this weather in reaching 23° C, which I like for a shower.
Re: Temperature drops to 1 C tonight
We have a well insulated Bungalow with quite a few rooms.. We have used a lot of gas recently to keep us warm. But we tend to have a shower in the morning when the heating is on for one or two hours.
The water gets hot and the radiators do too.

Re: Temperature drops to 1 C tonight
Our house is not insulated and has alluminium windows which can cause huge condensation problems. On the extremely cold nights we run our new aircon units and keep them on low (18c) all night which solves the condensation problems on the windows and north facing walls.
During the day, the sun is now warm and even though it is cold outside, our large, LG 2400btu unit keeps our house at a reasonable temperature for doing jobs.
Without the heating on, the temperature drops from 21c to 15c in 8 hours overnight, on the coldest nights. 2c outside. Usual ovenight winter temperatures of around 10c the drop is to 18c and when it was warmer in January just a 2c loss.
Good news is our invertor is now working properly. Solar Edge monitored it last week. They adjusted the voltage perameters further, installed an update and we monitored it over the weekend. On Saturday we lost all power on Phase 3, but it came back on. Sunday the same thing happened, but power returned first thing Monday morning and Rosemary was able to dry her hair in the bedroom instead of taking her hairdryer into the kitchen. At 8am I was walking past a wifi extender that was plugged into a phase 3 socket. It started flashing and the extension socket lights were also flashing for a few seconds. Then no power again on Phase 3 and our invertor not producing.
Christos from Greenair sent an engineer out and he tested our electric, finding there was no power on Phase 3. He rang up EAC and within a couple of hours, two of their engineers came out and changed the Phase 3 fuse which had blown. As soon as the power was put back on, the fuse blew. I was told the problem was inside our house. Replied, there is nothing plugged into Phase 3. I was told to go inside, turn everything off at the fuse box inside but it blew again, before I had started switching each circuit on, one by one.
The EAC engineers then got their ladders, and reconnected each wire to the pole on our house. As soon as they connected the Phase 3 wire, it worked.
So far today, our invertor is working perfectly, currently producing 4.13kw. So if you are having problems with your invertor, it could be because of a faulty EAC connection. Ours started by it occasionally disconnecting, showing either high or low voltage on Line 3 and then reconnecting, but only happening very occasionally.
Customer service from Greenair was brilliant. Thanks.
