Dont know why any one would moan, surely any wind power is good news?

For how much wind there is in Cyprus it makes you wonder who's idea it was to build a wind farm on the Island at all.
It's regular to see the blades not turning or hardly turning at all.
I can not fly my radio control glider here due to the lack of wind and there are no regular wind patterns to speak about.
It can be calm on a morning then a bit wind midday then nothing later on.

The eastern side of the island can be very windy. I used to live near Tersefanou and the constant wind was one reason why I left. The turbines there were never still. This side, thankfully, is much better.

Yes, this is typical about sea breezes. From my website:
A common local wind is the sea/land breeze system. This is illustrated in this diagram, adapted from Wikipedia, where A is the situation during the day. The sun heats the land to a temperature higher than that of the sea. This, in turn, heats the air above it, which rises by convection and then flows seaward, As the air above the sea is cooler, it descends and a convection cell is formed. The sea breeze incoming to the land tends to be cooler but humid. As the land cools down at night (B), the sea remains warmer and the opposite effect holds true and the land breeze tends to be warmer and drier. As a rule, the land breeze tends to have lower wind speeds than the sea breezes. The sea breeze is often quite strong, reaching up to 4 or 5 m/s in the early afternoon and, depending on the topography of the land, can reach many km inland; where they blow through valleys, the speed can be increased because of the venturi effect. Such sea breezes are common in Cyprus in hot weather and may blow until late afternoon.

From my place I can see the whole Orites windpark and most of the time the blades are not even turning. For example tomorrow Friday the expected production of electricity (load rate) will be in the range of 0,2% capacity.... What a waste of money!

One Sunday before we came to Cyprus I had been out flying my glider up in the hills.
On the night after I got back I went to the pub for a pint and put my hand in my coat pocket to pull out a anemometer.
My friend next to me asked what it was so I told him "you stick it down the back of your pant and it tells you how fast the wind is blowing!"
