The Road To Gialia Monastery

Post by Dominic »

In this film we drive from Gialia Forest Station into Paphos Forest. Our destination is Gialia Monastery. To get there we drive through the a beautiful valley, take a wrong turn, before eventually arriving at the ruins. In part 2 we shall go on a tour of the site before returning to Polis.

You said presumable the fir cones at the Gialia Forest Station will be sold to Art Shops. However they lay there in the Sun for another month to dry out in order to remove the seeds for reforestation. After that time one can buy them by pickup load or smaller. Very handy to start the fire in winter in your fire place, much better than the smelly fire lighter cubes.

I did the walk up there last September and came back down the other side via the Village. I will definitely have a look at the Monastery next. Thanks for the film.
Ticking away, the moments that make up a dull day.
