A game changer for anyone wanting to visit the UK.
News from UK.
Re: News from UK.
I suggest you do not rely 100% on news from iffy mediaBut reports suggest the UK...
Re: News from UK.
This is already being discussed on another forum, but how many expats still have a British gp, I certainly dont.
Re: News from UK.
If you live here surely you cannot still be registered with a British GP. Unless of course you are 'cheating the system'
Trev..
Re: News from UK.
I hope to hell this is right, I lost my wife in January and have been waiting for good news so I can go back to see my 94 yo mother and my late wife's family.
Why should we who have had both jabs be penalised when we are covered.
My wife’s cousin has said how hard it has been for me to deal with the loss on my own with no family around to help.
I hope this is right as I will be booking flights as soon as I can!!!

Re: News from UK.
Most of the articles covering this topic today have been referencing comments made by
Minister Nadhim Zahawi - his answer to a question mainly - but with the question and in
context it seems to imply that the Registering the jab with a GP is for those who normally
live in the UK but may have had jabs outside the UK i.e. not expats.

Grant Schapps had said the same a couple of weeks ago, referenced the EU Digital pass, and suggested there would
be an announcement last week but nothing was mentioned so looks like it will be this week now.
Cheers

For expats then this "The minister added that plans were underway for reciprocal recognition of the vaccinationIt came after Labour MP Rupa Huq claimed one of her constituents who was vaccinated in the US was unable to register his two jabs on the app - forcing him to quarantine for ten days.
Mr Zahawi replied: “In terms of UK nationals who have been vaccinated overseas, by the end of this month they will be able to talk to their GP, go through what vaccine they have had and then have it registered with the NHS as being vaccinated.”

Re: News from UK.
Looks like an announcement later today:
The government is on Wednesday expected to approve the reopening of England’s doors to
double-vaccinated tourists from the EU and the US, in a move that will bring relief to the
country’s leisure sector... [FT]
Cheers
