Radio Viva FM, your opinion?

Post by cyprusmax47 »

Recently I am listening more to Radio Viva FM ( https://mytuner-radio.com/radio/viva-fm2-475638/ ) and quite like the selection of music they play. Also interrupted by ads like other channels, however not so often. What is very different are their news information, which reflects Cypriot matters and also international ones. So far I listen only on my computer and have no idea how the radio reception in the car is when you leave Paphos town and drive to the hinterland at 104.3. Any experience?

You need to tell Alexa to play “Viva Paphos”

I like Viva but it depends on the DJ so tend to jump between that and Rock Fm in the car.

I think they play some great music. It's not on TuneIn, but there's a similar app called myTuner which has it.

I have Viva FM on both my car radio and on house radio and I listen when convenient. On the whole I like their choice of music and enjoy hearing the oldies, anything from about the 1960’s hits and onwardsI also like their news and weather broadcasts.
I realise that it needs to take advertisements, but they aren’t too obtrusive. And there is a general absence of inane chatter which is another plus.
Keep it up!

It’s ok. I like Dave Asher but turn off when he interviews his guests, estate agents etc, big yawn. I also enjoy Rock FM. Bejay has a great show as does Matthew.

Sunshine Radio repackaged as Viva FM as mentioned by another poster tend to switch off when the chat come advertising is taking place but otherwise listenable music although the play list seems limited due to cost of broadcasting rights I would guess.in the main i use MyTuner for local and UK radio.

Overall prefer Rock FM but have Viva on in the to try it out, when it comes to shows without DJs and it’s just a playlist, I much prefer my own music from the phone in the car as at least I know I like it all. That’s why I turned off from Sunshine when we first came over here.

Is there an English-speaking radio station which isn´t broadcasting music but rather info and news on Cyprus other than the BFBS?
