UK Winter - North West Coast

Post by PhotoLady »

We've had a couple of beautifully sunny days here where the river meets the sea near the Fylde coast but sadly, I've been suffering with terrible headaches caused by a freezing cold A/C unit that was on us on New Years' Eve in our local club. Unfortunately, we didn't feel it until much later in the evening when we had all stopped dancing and were sitting down at around 00:30hrs - by then it was too late....

Since I had several sinus operations I've found I've been very susceptible to getting cold in my cheekbones or on either side of the top of my skull but it hits a day or so after the event. Then it takes 3 to 4 days to clear and moves around until eventually, I find the root of where the cold was at a constant.... so basically, I've tried not to go out of the house when the wind has been cold since the weekend.

Today however, there wasn't much wind so late this afternoon we took our Ruby out with us to the Post Office in the village then made our way back home by the seafront along The Esplanade to the ferry jetty, then along the River Wyre to Sea Dyke Cottage where we took the footpath over Knott End Golf course and back home again..... approximately a 45 minute round trip as we're strolling rather than "stepping out" and hiking it.

The camera came too!

Final photos:

This one is my Photo of the Day - a couple pushing a wheelbarrow after collecting driftwood along the river in readiness for NEXT winter!

Heading back home - our house is just off the left of the photo but the stone wall you see in the distance by the side of the pathway, is where we will scatter the ashes of our old doggy (Indie) when the weather is drier for a longer period. He's currently living in the top of my wardrobe in our bedroom.
