This lovely bird sits every day for a short time at this shrub, just outside my office window. So today I managed to get a photo from it through the glass.
First time this one comes to my garden. Anybody knows the name ?
Spot-on Bromerzz, thank you. I don't know what the situation in Cyprus is, but just found on a English website the following key information:
"Its dramatic decline to virtual extinction as a UK breeding species make this a Red List bird. It is also listed as a Schedule 1 species under The Wildlife and Countryside Act."
How sad that this bird is so rare now as to be an endangered species. It must surely be at risk from hunters soon, if not now. The average hunter who I've seen will shoot at anything feathered or furred.
