Its looking possible that there might not be a Brexit deal, how will that possibly affect expats and GESY healthcare

At the moment if you have to pay into the Gesy system its an annual charge of 2.65% of your total global income, then the usual charges to see a Dr, consultant, prescriptions etc

Personally I think it is all part of the negotiation strategy. Look at it this way, if you desperately needed to buy a car to get you to Protaras in 5 hours for the Pan Cypriot All In Gurning Championships, would you:

A. Go to a car seller and tell him you need a car ASAP no matter what the cost
B. Tell them you are looking for a second motor as the other half wants to go out on their own occasionally.

The thing is, it is a game both sides are playing.

You don’t negotiate by changing what was agreed in law and lodged with the UN, previously, then expect normal negotiations. By reneging on the agreement over Ireland, the UK has shown itself to be untrustworthy. I think there is no intention on the UK side, to do any deal and they are forcing the EU to say they cannot offer one, so they can blame the EU. We see talk of a “Canada” deal - but Canada does not see thousands of lorries every day crossing from Canada into the EU, where thousands of individual pieces of paperwork have to be completed.
