It's Like early 80's Technology resurrected with a bit more tech added - I remember a friend of mine came back from California in 1982 with a Home Base charging station with 8 handset Phones/Walkie talkies in it and said this was the latest tech - When the occupants of the house left for work or whatever on a morning they each took a handset with them and it was a mobile phone or a means of keeping in touch with the rest of the family for free during the day - Then on a night the sets were all returned to the base station for charging and was then a house phone again. It never caught on.
This new type set seems to have had GPS and other functions added but is the same principle and may be a useful thing if a few people had them.

That is why i asked - A couple of people i met a few weeks ago had them and had only just got them and the main benefit that i could see was that you can speak to others all day if you wanted through you network provider at no cost ( not sure how that works) on the Walkie Talkie part of it and it does have pedestrian sat nav GPS and location pin point ( not sure if that is a good thing either)
