Apologise if this subject has already been discussed in the past-:
Can anyone provide an update/latest information about the EU laws being enforced regarding communal swimming pools having a licence to stay open.
Are places like Paradise Gardens/Limnaria and any other complex pools open to holiday makers, or have any complex pools been closed ?
communal swimming pools EU rules
Re: communal swimming pools EU rules
An interesting topic which was discussed on Facebook in some detail when the restrictions were lifted and public pools were reopened as complex pools come under the same umbrella as sports venues and hotels. Some pools remain closed, others are fully legal and operational and others are being used but do not have the required public licence which requires a lifeguard in attendance when in use, fenced off pool etc and/or do not also comply with the Covid-19 protocols.
Not heard of any inspections in the Paphos region this year to ensure the various regulations are being applied but there is a €300 per person fine if found using the pool and the committee would also receive a hefty fine. In a serious breach there is the threat of the swimming pool being closed permanently.

The communal pools at Regina gardens, paradise gardens and liminaria are all cordoned off with red and white tape ..people are using the pools are swimming in them...guess you swim, you take your chance of being fined
If you never ask the question, the answer will always be....no

I'm not so sure this has anything to do with the EU. Cyprus has it's own rules and regulations, plus there will possibly be additional restrictions at the present time due to Covid-19
Re: communal swimming pools EU rules
Correct, there are two separate sets of rules that need to be complied with in order for communal pools to be open legally, one relating to themike strand2 wrote: ↑Fri Aug 14, 2020 2:08 pm I'm not so sure this has anything to do with the EU.
