Ryanair into Paphos

Post by angiexrd »

Can anyone shed some light about Ryanair flight?
We are booked on a Ryanair flight to Paphos 24th July which is still showing scheduled on their website but some of the Paphos flights have been cancelled to Paphos. Cyprus have the UK in Cat. C until the 1st August so I can't understand why Ryanair haven't cancelled my flight. Do any of you know if a UK tourist has flown with Ryanair in to Paphos in the last couple of weeks or so.

I have been watching Ryanair flights to Paphos from Stansted for about the last three weeks or so. I am pretty sure they have not cancelled one single flight. Which leads me to believe they must be either empty or not far off empty. They are flying four times per week at present. It may be economical for them to make the flight as people have booked And paid for flights but can’t travel. So easier for them to keep their planes in the skies than deal with more refunds.

That is amazing that a company is expecting you to book a flight to the UK, but they are not telling you which airport you are going to..
A bit like coach mystery tours from UK holiday resorts ha ha..

Ryanair flights were never on for the 15/16 July. They had flights on 12/14 and scheduled flights for 17/19 July. They fly Stansted/Paphos four times per week at present. You can check these dates on Ryanair’s website and also on flight tracker app.

The flights shown on screenshots were the flights that would have flown pre-pandemic. Stansted/Paphos is only available to book four days per week, check their own website.

I'm not sure what the position is for tourists from the UK as officially, UK is a Cat C country at present. It was due to be upgraded to Cat B on Aug 1, but the Govt here haven't announced any decision on this as yet, When/if the UK is upgraded UK tourists will be able to come, but will either need a negative Covid 19 test certificate (within 72hrs of flight dep from the UK) or to take a test at Paphos airport. They may have to download and complete the Cyprus Flight Pass too.
If you look at the Sunday Cyprus Mail on line there's more about it.
