metal detector request

Post by kingsdale »

A bizarre request if I may... I've lost my septic tank, well I know where it should be according to the plans but there are no inspection hatches in that area. So I was wondering if someone has a metal detector that I could borrow or that they would be prepared to pop up and sweep over the area rather than me trying to dig a series of test pits to find the hatches.

Try two devining rods, I've seen drains located using this method on construction sites. It does work believe it or not.

You could use a Powerfull Magnet to detect the manhole covers.

Thats if there not plastic!

The law here makes it an offence to use a metal detector in many places around Paphos town. This is aimed at protecting the many archaeological sites from looters. So most people are unlikely to have one. If you contact a company called Hydrojet they should have the equipment which will locate your septic tank and pipes. But its strange that you can’t find any trace of it visually as they should have three manhole covers with concrete surrounds which are visible.

With divining rods you cannot find it. But the idea with a strong magnet (from a speaker p.e.) fixed on a broomstick I would personally try...
