Talk Talk

Post by Jim B »

I just received an email from Talk Talk saying they will be closing my e-mail account from the beginning of April unless I pay £5 per month or £50 per year for a Mail Plus account.
This is because I don't have a broadband account with them. I've had this address for what must be as long as e-mail has been on the internet and don't want to lose it.

Has anyone else received this type of post from Talk Talk, is it for real?

Probably genuine. I did read something the other week about how BT and other companies were getting told off for doing just this.

Ultimately though, if you no longer use them, you should give up your email. Get a gmail or Outlook email address instead. Just make sure you send an email to everybody you care about first. Oh and change all your online accounts to use the new email address.

Look on the bright side. For a while, at least, you will get less spam.
