Re: Rikkos beach
I am not so sure it was a health hazzard - I never heard of any who frequented the place becoming ill or dying – It was just from a different era and had not been improved upon, Many people used the place and had a soft spot for it – I could be wrong but I think more people have caught a disease in hospital and died. I had two good mates who caught MRSA after minor operations and both died from it in the past ten years.

Re: Rikkos beach
That was rotten luck, trans am!! Sorry for your lose.
However, when you have a situation where there is no adequate food storage, no hot water, no proper washing facilities, where food is cooked in the same area that a dog inhabits, etc, etc. I think that does constitute a health hazard.
Anyway, it is all irrelevant now.

It was authentic and earthy and whatever anybody thinks it has been there forever were other establishments haven’t survived the test of time, hopefully the trees will not be destroyed.........

The seating area under the trees was the best part of Ricco’s, especially in the summer. It was always coolest there. It will be a shame if the trees are removed.
Hope they will be allowed to stay there. But am not betting on it!

Walked past today, Sunday. New kiosk up and running but did not venture inside. I always use Stavros's Kiosk for my coffee, next to the Imperial Hotel, which is impeccably clean and one of the nicest coffees you could have.
Wonder what the new kiosk has got a licence for and whether the municipality will enforce it, along with the appropriate hygeine regulations.

Hello, John missed you again
, the old cafe on Geroskipou municipal beach I had probably THE worst cup of joe ever, the lady just used tap water that at best was tepid (just) and a sachet of Nescafe, maybe Alan just bought a bottle of beer like I know he would (bless him). Let's hope the new venture is an improvement, it would need to be, not being nostalgic for the old days, I hope the water they use is at least hot, maybe a new Coffee machine.

I'll ask you a question why are you such an argumentative twit? that's all you do look for an argument, what a waste of a good forum.
To answer your question, on second thoughts why bother.

Just read WHLs post to Rosemary. Her reply, after a sarcastic laugh, was, John, why do you bother posting when people can be so rude.

Re: Rikkos beach
Yes, she found that funny. It was obvious that WHL, yet again, was goading Jim. I do not usually get involved with forum arguments, so I am now going on my walk and hope to meet some interesting people on the bench at Geroskipou Beach.
Re: Rikkos beach
Actually, it was a perfectly reasonable question.
