Chaddy, you can't compare a cat, or any animal, to a human being. There are many reasons an animal might suddenly bite you. Pain or fear even if they know you well. If a human hurts you it's deliberate and they know what they are doing.

Anyone that chooses to make these stray cats lives a bit nicer knows scratches and bites are an occupational hazard. I don't think she will be blaming the cat.

(She might give him a telling off though 😽)

Nor does it sound like a very considered adult response.
But if it makes you feel powerful...............

Spot on Pat, there's nobody on this earth who loves her cats more. Think she might be a tad wary of this one in the future though and probably did tell him off!!

Jus so glad she's home and well!

MM as I feed at least six strays now seven this morning, then maybe understand I will not be risking a bite from one of these cats, really we should not be encouraging them but like many ex-pats we feel sorry for them, as we did our thrown away rescue dog ten years ago, loved every minute of her life MM.

I would never hurt any animal, if you look back at CL my old forum I ran three animal rescue forums now they are on PL, again how many have you run?

I would just capture the cat and take it on a long trip. meaning over thee road!

TLR "POWERFUL" adult response? how many of these cats do you help? what a stupid and silly comment.
Jim.

For sure looking after stray cats can cost you money. We have one that calls most mornings for breakfast around 6am.. I noticed she was getting a little plump, so caught her and had her speyed.
That was a bit less than €100.. Then a few weeks ago I noticed red sores on her, and took her to the vets.. She had ringworm, a very contagious disease both to other animals and humans. Treatment for that cost €120.. Plus of course the food everyday and tick and flea treatment.
She only just lets me touch her head or neck when feeding, but i would not like to see any harm come to her..
