Fabrica Hill Aerial walkway
Re: Fabrica Hill Aerial walkway
Regarding payment for the remaining work... One would hope that there is money left from the sum allocated for the whole job... Surely the original contractor was only paid for the work done. If this was the case, then the money to finish the job should still be available..

The new contractor will have tendered for the completion work in accordance with EU Rules of open tendering. They will tender on a fresh set of documents and a consultant will have been paid to write these. The cost of the completion work will almost certainly have risen, because: a) material costs will likely to have risen, b) the original contractor may well have put in a silly tender and that may be why he went bust, c) completing something that was abandoned by someone else is more complicated, and d) unforeseen previous errors may need correcting, and so on!trevnhil wrote: ↑Sat Oct 19, 2019 9:08 pm Regarding payment for the remaining work... I experienced this in respect of a primary school in the UK. The final cost was around 25% more than the original tender figure. Client changes in the course of building also contributed to this extra!
