Expecting bad weather

Post by garry&jill »

I noticed that the barges and cranes are coming into shelter in Latsi/polis
today even the diggers are shoreside, so i'm expecting the winds to increase in the next couple of days

Yes, it is on its' way - I've been watching the weather in Malta and they've had 2 very windy days, which has caused the Azure Window on Gozo to completely collapse into the sea. It's gone now forever, one of nature's creations which she's just destroyed :-(

The forecast indicated the weather was headed in the direction of Rhodes....

Coptic or Coincidence - Fact or Fiction
The Cyprus Coptic Equinox gale (El Hossum), an 8 day, South Westerly gale is due 10 March (+ /- 24hrs)
What we are
What we have been
What we intend to be
is shown more in the Patience we exhibit than through any other virtue

I tend to take the Coptics with a pinch of salt.... a storm, is a storm, is a storm. Weather does strange things and that's about as much as we need to know ;-)

I have found over the years that the Coptic Storms/gales are very accurate.
The next few days of bad weather happen every year at about the same date, the Cypriots are great believers in the Coptic Charts.

Well I've just looked back over my photos for the last 3yrs in March and there's nothing significant to report on dodgy weather...

Mark/Lloyd, never in my time here have I ever found Coptic storm warnings reliable in any way.

Well they never work for me, I always think if they are on time it is pure coincidence.
