Kritou Terra to close off road to waterfalls for safety reasons

Kritou Terra community council will close off access by car to the community's waterfall for safety reasons, community leader Delvis Charalambous said on Tuesday.He said the decision will be implemented in the next few days because of the heavy traffic and the increased risk of accidents because the road is narrow....

This puzzled me. I visited here recently when I was taking some shots to promote our road trips. The road down to the waterfall has recently been tarmaced and is a lot easier to drive down. Perhaps that would explain the increased popularity?

I think that It’s the path which is below the small car park at the end of the road. This path is both very narrow, slippery and has no handrail which is dangerous. It leads ever downwards close to the waterfalls.

I think it is a great route. We went down it to the waterfalls a couple of years ago. We even crawled through the very narrow cave to the little ledge on the other side.
