Which beaches welcome dogs this summer?

Post by memory man »

Dog owners can take their four legged friends with them to seven beaches in Cyprus this summer, the Deputy Ministry of Tourism announced.

The Central Beach Committee has designated two beaches each in Paphos and Limassol and one each in Nicosia, Larnaca and Paralimni as open to dogs.

The beaches are the same as last year. They are:

At least we can all agree that the beach in Nicosia will be non-tidal.

Just like all the rest Dom...

One of those Pafos dog friendly beach at the far end (east) of Gerouskipou beach is not suitable for animals or humans, so rocky it is impossible to use, I have tried it even when the tide was out, about 10 cm's

If only they would designate the extreme end of one of the very long beaches such as the one at Geroskipou? Somewhere which is far enough away from the beach cafes where people congregate. In the UK for example, the very far end of the long beach at Weymouth is accessible for dogs with their owners. It works very well too as people take their dogs there on summer evenings. The dogs obviously enjoying a swim or a paddle. Red doggie bins are provided and there was absolutely no dog mess on the sandy beach. If only Cyprus would allow that.

Technically, that's what they did. Unfortunately, the extreme end of Geroskipou Beach is just incredibly rocky. Not only that, it has had the River Ezousa running through it all winter.

This blog showed the other one:
