The Repair shop
The Repair shop
Not sure if anyone else watches this, but I find it a brilliant programme. A group of artisans work in the buildings, restoring and repairing old and damaged treasured articles, of every nature under the sun. They are a truly amazing crew of people and the restoration work they achieve is phenomenal. It's on BBC1 at 4.30 UK time, so obviously 6.30 Cyprus time. I thoroughly recommend it.
Will check Google to get the site details and come back to post. I know it's based on a pretty awesome site in the UK. Would love to visit.

Re: The Repair shop
I'm also a regular watcher of The Repair Shop and I love the programme. It's so nice to see the level of craftsmanship that is still out there and that some young people are also taking up these skills. Well worth watching the past programmes if you enjoy this sort of thing - some of them are quite emotional!

Re: The Repair shop
So true Jeanne, I'm staggered at the level of expertise on the programme, and totally impressed by the younger artisans as well as those more experienced.
Re: The Repair shop
Completely agree Lloyd, I do wonder re the costs every time I watch the programme. Presumably, they are met somehow, somewhere, possibly by the TV production team, who knows?
As you say, still a lovely programme to watch and very impressive work by those involved, which is what astounds me personally each time I see it.

Ian... Do you know what the item was that a Polemi Resident had repaired. Presumably he lives in the UK now..

Re: The Repair shop
I enjoy watching this too, and I'm pretty sure somebody sometime in the opening "blurb" commented that there is no official charge, but recipients can donate as much as they feel appropriate/can afford, it apparently is a charity.
Or maybe I dozed off at that point and dreamed it!

The painting repairs like the one tonight I find incredible. Also, the clock they restored tonight was just beautiful.
Re: The Repair shop
Awww for flips sake . . . . . . that was one of the worst (or best) for me regarding the crying. What an amazing story. I especially loved that they kept the bumps. ❤❤❤
