Yes I have purchased things from there, but do read their terms and conditions first.
If you take the TV home, unpack it and it does not work, you would no doubt take it back...
But they will have to sent it to Nicosia to be tested to see what is wrong with it, and meanwhile you will not get a replacement or a refund until the fault is diagnosed.

At least this is what happened to me personally (but not a TV) and I was 15 days without the item I wanted... But you can ask them this whilst you are in the store. Things may have changed..

We now usually use Electroline.

Before buying anything at Stephanis, go in and join the bonus scheme, you will get 10 % off purchases, also they do free delivery on any goods over about 30 euros.

We bought ours at just under half price in Carrefour on the first day of the World Cup matches in 2010. A 47" Sony Bravia. The match had been about 20 minutes in play and the supermarket was deadly quiet....

We brought it back with us last April when we returned to UK and it's still working just fine. No problems with it since we bought it.

We also bought a desktop computer from Carrefour which we did have a problem with. We took it back and they sent it to Nicosia. We got a call 2 days later to go in and we could either have another the same or choose another model.

We got the same model and that came back to UK with us too!

I use Stephanis all the time as I much prefer the more personal service than Public. I buy a lot of stuff there for my business (computers, printers, laptop, at least 4 phones/tablets for the family, TV's and printer cartridges etc. ). Anything not in stock can be ordered in for collection or you can order on their (really good) website and get home, shop or ACS shop delivery/collection. Over the years, I have had two HP printers fail, both of which were replaced. They were checked first for repair but one was 4 months old - one was 22 months old.

I have bought from most retailers over the years. For televisions I would also look at Bionic and Hadjikyriakos (Polis Road a few hundred yards up from Shipshape traffic lights on the right hand side - very helpful and willing to haggle).

We can all only speak from our individual experience I reckon.... We've purchased small electricals from Stephanis (mobile phone which I had for a couple of years, a printer which it was cheaper to buy a new printer than replace the ink cartridges etc) without any problems. So I cannot speak for how Stephanis handle their replacement or refund policies.

On the other hand, as stated we bought 2 large electrical items from Carrefour - one of which we did have a problem with but which was rectified very quickly, with no quibbles inside 48 hours of them receiving it back from us.

Bear in mind that the electrical department in Carrefour is a concession, so your warranty is not with Carrefour so hopefully resolves the service problems that people have raised over the years.

I bought my television from Scandia. Their after sales service is excellent.

I have bought a wireless printer from Stephanis, I found the service in Stephanis patchy as the assistant was inclined to walk off to try to serve other customers . In my case I needed information about the different printers and most of that was in Greek. The assistant had difficulty explaining or answering my questions. The other problem for me is that they have no facility to send someone to your house to install new equipment.
Fortunately, I had a friend who did this for me at home.
But in my opinion Stephanis is better for people who know what they want and have the ability or have their own contacts to help with any home installation.
The other annoying thing is that Stephanis do not have a shop phone that you can use to contact the shop so should you have a problem the only thing is to take the item that you bought back to the shop - which I found inconvenient.
My printer fortunately was OK when we eventually got it set up and connected to my iPad wirelessly. Dee

I bought a printer from public when I go to buy ink they are usually out of stock. Stephanis always have this ink in stock.
