So I am still satisfied finding some nice pieces when I am out for "rock-hunting", but what happened today was a real highlight for me and ever so exiting. I unearthed one huge boulder, ca 15 kg, as it looked suspicious for crystals inside....I tried to crack it with hammer and chisel on site, but it was not possible and I gave up. In the end I carried the whole thing to my car and home where I have more heavy tools to split it. The result:...
The first pic showing the boulder with marks on the top from my efforts before, to split it..

One proper hit with my sledge hammer and one piece came off, showing a cavity and first crystals.. confirming that there might be a treasure

close up look.... very very promising..

no risk - no fun...... a second hit with the sledge hammer and I had two amazing nice pieces with lovely quartz crystals inside
this is the smaller piece of the two

same piece standing up

now the larger piece

close up

another close up finally - perhaps some of you can understand why this discovery made my day...
