Recommendations for paint job (car)

Post by ashlep »

Hello again :),

My husband found a compact car that he'd like to purchase, but it really needs to be repainted (simple paint job in black; the car has no rust). We were given a quote by one company, but it was more than double the price of what we've had to pay in the past in a few other countries, so we weren't sure if they were just pulling a fast one on us and thought we'd ask all of you. Do any of you know someone with reasonable prices...or could you let us know roughly what we should expect to pay over here for that service? Thank you in advance. :D

Unfortunately reasonable prices don't usually equal the best job.. Most cars here have no rust. if I were you.... I would look for another car of the make and model you like..

But the company I have used before for repairs and respraying are..
Lefteris Christodoulides & Son Ltd Just off the Polis road above Smart supermarket .

There is no such thing as a simple paint job... It there was, you could do it yourself....

I'm only trying to find out what the average prices are here (simple job meaning a single-coat synthetic enamel paint job...not trying to do it myself). The only quote I've had so far was *more* than double for what I have ever paid in Ireland, the US and France (for a good paint job)...so I am just making sure I am not getting ripped off (simple job or not). Nothing wrong with asking.

ABC on the Geroskipou Ind Estate are good and they carry out all the repair and repaint work for Abbeygate Insurance.

If the paint is bad, it must be an oldish car.
You could spend more painting it than you paid for it and then something mechanical goes wrong.
Not worth it in my book.

Hi

I used John in Chlorakas. Fabulous job - resprayed pretty much the whole of my 17 year old Jimny for 400 euros and it looks brand new!

I’ll second that Jonjo.
Excellent job and very reasonable.

He’s next to Simon Emery’s workshop, near the Time Out kiosk

The only way you will get a comparison is to visit two or three paint shops, and get a quote from each of them, for the same work, the problem is one paint shop might strip the paint back to bare metal ( many man hours) another might just give it a quick rub down and spray, make sure they understand what you are looking for.

Thank you all! I will contact John as it seems he comes highly recommended by all of you with reasonable prices. I've had a few quotes come in now and it seems it was only that one which was exorbitantly high for what we wanted;the others are reasonable. Cheers!

David Mitchell Motors Geriskipou resprayed my car and very good job it was They removed a few dents not by just filling it but by welding metal pins on it and pulling it out then applying filler.

Resurrecting this thread to thank those who recommended John in Chloraka. He did an excellent job on our car, and for a fair price.

Could you tell us the model of the car, what work was involved and cost, this might help others to get a rough guide, thanks

The last couple of dents weve had knocked out and resprayed were at Valentino Stavrou and I must say his work is second to none, very impressed. They are based at Geroskipou Industrial Area Koloni (not the big industrial base). Their number is 99859131 or 99756038

Nissan March. A dent in a fender had to be hammered out and the area spot painted. €100.
