I do the same with flash drives, I would have suggested a full reformat but as you say you have already done this it may just be a file that is corrupted, sorry cannot help you as I never have any problems doing just as you do, good luck

Make sure you format at as FAT32 rather than NTFS. And presumably, you still have an existing stick that works? If that is the case, copy the files from the one you know works to the new stick, and see if they play. If they do play ok, stick some of the new music files onto the old, working stick, and see if they play. If they don't play, the problem is with the music files.

Sorry, I don't have the answer other than to say it's happened to me too. I transferred songs onto a USB stick and it won't play in the car (but does on the computer). Re-transferred the songs onto another USB and it worked fine in the car. I hadn't a clue why!
