Building in Koili

Post by Aargent »

Passed through the edge of Koili, from Tsada, the other day, does anybody know what the building work going on at what used to be a football area, is for ? It looks pretty large for the size of the Village.

We asked a few weeks ago and were told that it is a basketball court with rooms for visiting teams to stay in.

Didn't know basketball was so popular up there.

The building is a sort of multipurpose community centre for Kili and a number of nearby villages. The EU has provided about 90% of the funding with the rest coming from the neighboring villages.

The building will include a sports facility including accommodation, restaurant / coffee shop and units where local produce can be sold.

And some people on here say that the EU is hell on Earth when every major improvement on this island (and everywhere on the continent) has seen some financial support from the EU :o

Well done Kili! It is only a small village, relatively isolated. A multi purpose centre, with extra facilities which can be shared with other local villages will be good especially for younger people. A Nice coffee shop/ taverna would be good too. Tala is also building a multi purpose communal facility as well, with EU support.
